“If it is to Be, it’s Up to Me”

2 Corinthians 5:17 says “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (NLT)

Many times in our lives we go into the new year with the mindset of the previous. We go in carrying the same baggage, the same people that continue to weigh us down, and even the same attitude. We make New Years resolution lists about things we honestly don’t really have a true determination for, we just desire it. All we have really done is copied and pasted last year’s list and put it our “notes” section with a few minor adjustments…

But have we changed our mindset? I know you’ve probably heard “you change you mindset, you change your life”; I’m just here to confirm that it’s true. You are what you think about. What you speak intensifies what shall occur. For example, you keep saying how lonely you are, the more lonely you become. The more you allow yourself to give power to your “emotions”. Your emotions are temporary so stop giving them permanent power over your life. Stop basing everything on how you feel right now. Instant gratification may (sometimes) get you what you want, but not always what you need. Your mindset allows you to decree over yourself what shall be; “if it is to be it’s up to me”.

2013 has been declared the year of recovery. When in recovery you can’t do everything you did in 2012 and previous. Recovery does not always grant you the things that you want, but allows you to get a path to better health, and a better YOU. You carried a lot of things in 2012 and it was rough, I know. But this year, I urge you to press toward the mark, your goal and stop allowing your emotions to distract you. Yes, there are many things that feel good, look good, etc.. But everything that’s nice to see isn’t right for you. It’s your year, go get it. The only thing holding you back, is the choice to make your mind up. God has given you everything you need (in house), so check your supply cabinet and make the choice.

Remember, “a set BACK is a set UP for a COMEBACK”s

I love you and so does He,
