Why Are You Stressing?

It’s Monday evening and for many of us this is the first day back from vacation. We went into the new year excited about the things God had in store for us. We were excited about the promises God had given to us. We were excited about the fact that we could leave the situations, issues, craziness, relationships, friendships, and family issues we went through in 2012 behind us into a brand new year. One full of promise and RECOVERY! It is January 7th, 2013… Why are some of us back to stressing if its a new year?

You’re back to thinking about your ex because you’re lonely, you’re feeling depressed because you can’t “find” someone – but you were destined to be with anybody, he placed someone on Earth for YOU, and only you… But that’s for another blog. You’re stressing about grades, sports, family, extra activities and how you’re going to pay for school but you haven’t even put it into His hands? You’ve been coming home stressed because you’re trying to cram everything into the 24 hours you’re given… You keep feeling like its too much. Sometimes like its almost too much to pray. (Yes I’ve been there).

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

You finally pray, but you’re still worrying. WHY? What’s the point of praying if you’re going to get off your knees concerned about what you just prayed about? God is HIGHER than us: He sees our struggles, He sees our pain, and most importantly He has the POWER to FIX it. You will never feel that release and peace Philippians 4:7 talks about if you keep stressing. No I’m not going to say doing so is easy… Peace over Stress!
